Hi, I'm Tara.
Mom. Meditation teacher. Believer in beginning again.
I didn’t arrive at this work because I had life perfectly figured out. Quite the opposite.
My own experiences have taught me how easy it is to become disconnected from yourself while you’re busy doing what you think you’re supposed to do. To keep going. To take care of things. To be productive. To push through.
And eventually, to realize you haven’t stopped long enough to ask yourself how you’re actually doing.
That question becomes central to my work:
How are you doing - like, really?
Why Meditation
I became a certified mindfulness meditation teacher through the Science of Mindful Awareness (SOMA) program at The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, MD. What drew me to mindfulness wasn’t the idea of becoming perfectly calm or escaping difficult feelings.
It was something much more practical. The possibility of learning to be with life differently.
To notice what is happening without immediately reacting. To create a little space between what happens and what to do next. To return to ourselves when we’ve wandered far away.
That’s what I want to offer through my meditation work. Not another thing you’re supposed to be good at - just a place to begin.
You’re welcome to read more about my journey and insight on my Substack.
And if you’re ready to connect, let’s talk. You don’t have to know exactly what you’re looking for. I’m here to help.
